On Friday 26th September 2025, Rund welcomed students from Warwick Business School (WBS) for a full-day career bootcamp, marking the third consecutive year of support towards the undergraduate programme.
The intensive workshop, led by a team of Rund professionals including Dom Part (Senior Surveyor and Graduate Programme Lead), Milind Page (Senior Surveyor), Sakib Mohammed (Surveyor), and Hannah Griffiths (Graduate Surveyor), provided students with practical insights into careers in surveying and construction consultancy.
The day began with breakfast at Rund's Birmingham office, where students received an overview of the business and explored the range of career opportunities available at both Rund and across the built environment sector. The afternoon session moved to Barclays' Birmingham office for a networking lunch, followed by an interactive project review and Q&A activity.
Students tackled real-world scenarios, including assessing the feasibility of a residential development scheme. Working in groups, they evaluated whether to recommend a Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) scheme with ground-floor commercial units or a Build-to-Rent (BTR) scheme for a hypothetical developer client. The exercises emphasised practical skills such as identifying Key Performance Indicators aligned with client objectives.
"I had a humbling day," said Dom Part, reflecting on the workshop. "From the outset, the students demonstrated an exceptional ability to collaborate, present with clarity, and engage with feedback in real time. What impressed me most was their agility: by the afternoon session, they had already actioned the morning's feedback, refined their approach, and elevated their performance."
Dom thanked Ila Kiddy, Assistant Relationship Manager at WBS for organising the event, Barclays for hosting the afternoon session, and Rund colleagues Tom French (Associate Director), Milind, Sakib, and Hannah for their instrumental role in delivering the programme.
"I am proud to be part of a company that invests in the next generation, and even prouder to witness the future talents," he added.
The bootcamp reflects our ongoing commitment to developing emerging talent in the property sector, with several graduates from previous years' programmes having returned for placements, work experience, and full-time work with us.
